Embarking on another exciting collaboration with Injalak Arts, the Kunwinjku Counting Book features 12 beautiful paintings by artist Gabriel Maralngurra, and celebrates language and culture.
With low rates of literacy and numeracy among Indigenous children throughout Australia, the book was created with an emphasis on providing content that is local and relevant to Kunwinjku children. Each of the paintings are partnered with simple sentences suitable for small children in both English and the local language, and includes more detailed ecological and cultural information that appeals to older children and adults.
The Kunwinjku Counting Book is proudly self-published by Injalak Arts with a goal to distribute nationally.
